Connection Therapy

"Connection Therapy" is an outgrowth of my book, "Hunger for Connection." It is an integration of psychodynamic "talk" therapy and cognitive-behavioral "action" therapy, and it's aim is to help you replace "thinking" with your body with thinking with your mind (a great relief!). When your body and mind are working together--"on the same page" at the same time--it will be much easier to make sense of your eating disorder (and/or other difficult emotions) and apply more helpful and directed interventions. Eating Disorders are disorders of being and thinking alone; Connection Therapy will help you learn to make stronger and more satisfying connections and engage in relationships that are far more fulfilling than food.

I love working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages from this depth psychology/contemporary relational psychoanalytic perspective, along with offering effective strategies to help strengthen these new understandings. In what I call "un-covery," I work with a wide variety of emotional and behavioral issues and provide a safe, warm, and supportive environment for emotional exploration.
